How to catch Pokemon

Every Pokemon Trainer wants to become the very best and catch 'em all. This little guide might help you to safe money and time.

First of all we'd like to introduce the most important abilitys and moves:

When a Pokémon with Synchronize is burned, paralyzed, or poisoned by another Pokémon, that Pokémon will be inflicted with the same status condition. Synchronize will not inflict sleep or freeze. This ability is way more interesting outside of battles. Pokémon with Synchronize is in the first place in the party (even if fainted) when a wild Pokémon is encountered, there is a 50% chance that the game will force it to have the same Nature as the Pokémon with this Ability. We recomend to use Abra.

False Swipe is a damage-dealing Normal-type move. False Swipe inflicts damage, but will leave the target with 1 HP if it would otherwise cause it to faint. We recomment to use Breloom, because Breloom is able to learn the move Spore from pre-evolutions. Spore is a non-damaging Grass-type move which puts the target to sleep. The most interesting part of Spore is a 100% accuracy.

Trace is an Ability that changes into the Ability of a random adjacent opponent. We recomend to use Ralts and evolutions because it is not as expensive as Porygon. You are able to check the enemies abilitys upon joining the battle and flee if thats not the ability you are looking for.

Role Play is a non-damaging Psychic-type move which replaces the user's Ability with the target's Ability. We recomend to use Kadabra as long as you have no Pokemon with the Ability trace.

Damp as an Ability is also mentionable. Pokemon like Parasect with Damp prevent all Pokemon from using Moves like Self-Destruct, Explosion and Mind Blown.

A non-volatile status condition is a status condition that remains outside of battle and after being switched out. Using freeze and sleep will improve your catch rate by 2,5 whilst burn, poison and paralyze improve your catch rate by 1,5. Attention: Burn and poison might also kill the Pokemon!

Poke Balls are highly recomended for catching Pokemon because of their cost-benefit factor. You can also use Apricorns to improve your catch rate, more informations here https://www.pokeonecommunity.com/index.php?mod=articles&action=view&id=36

Now you should have enough informations to catch em all. Additionally I'd like to give you an example of very profitable Team to catch Pokemon.

You should always own a high number of Poke Balls in your pocket. The first pokemon in your party is a fainted Abra with Synchronize Ability. You don't have to level this Pokemon since it's always fainted when used. Second Pokemon of your party is a Ralts with Trace Ability to see the enemies Ability in battle-log upon joining the battle. Third Pokemon is Smeargle with Spore, False Swipe and Soak (changes the target's type to pure water) in its moveset. Soak is good against Ghost-type Pokemon which are not affected by False Swipe or Grass-type Pokemon which are not affected by Spore. This Team is supposed to catch 99% of the Pokemon perfectly and you can safe a huge amount of Poke$.
